The PS3 Isn’t Just a Game Console

Friday, September 5th, 2008

The video gaming experience is different for everyone, it could end in hours of entertainment for a family or for the less experience, the final result could be disappointment due to lack of knowledge of how to operate the game console. When you are shopping for a new game console, you may find it difficult as there are so many different options to choose from. The information you are looking for can be very difficult to find, but you will find there’s a lot of misinformation out there.

What type of games do you find interesting?
Are you an HDTV owner, or do you intend to buy one?

What type of budget do you have to work with?

Which piques your interest the most, playing games with a group or the solo playing experience?
Have you got any of the old school gaming systems?

The PlayStation 3 was the most pricey for quite a while. It’s a good thing that you will now find lower prices on them. For only 400 USD (it all depends on the model you plan on buying)it has pricing that is more attractive compared their competitors. Prices change constantly so chech the latest games consoles prices online.

The Playstation 3 is more than another mere game console! It has the capability to be a Blu-Ray, CD, or DVD player; as well as; it can upgrade DVDs to HD. Blu-Ray is now the leading high-definition film format; thus, if you’ve got an HDTV but no HD movie player, a PS3 might be a great means of getting both your movie and your gaming needs met in just one place. If you aren’t viewing Blu-ray movies in high definition, you won’t see any better grade of the programs. This feature doesn’t translate well for use with a standard definition set.

While virtually the same as the PS2 controller, the controller features motion sensing technology known as Sixaxis. The controller can be tilted Six different direction for interactive game play. The results vary from game to game based on well this has been incorporated. If it is not done properly it can be very annoying, but it can add to your experience if it’s done correctly. You need to keep in mind that the Sixasis controller is missing the vibration feature. The DualShock 3 controller with vibration will not be included with the new PS3’s, even though it has been released, until June 12, 2008.

Video games for the PS3 and Xbox 360 are pretty much the same the same for either system.

Determining the Purpose of Your Website

Thursday, September 4th, 2008

When I first meet with a client, one of the things we do is attempt to determine the purpose of their website. On a website planning worksheet we use, there is a list of purposes many websites have in common. The client goes through the list and ranks the items in order of importance. So the most important item will be 1, and there will only be one item labelled with a 1.

Here are the items in that list:

- To gain a favorable impression of the company or organization.

- To develop a qualified list of prospects

- To sell products directly taking credit card information over the Internet

- To encourage potential customers to contact us by phone or mail to consummate a sale

- To make available product information and price lists to distributors

- To make available product information and price lists to customers

- To strengthen brand identification

Another good idea is to come up with a succinct mission statement for your site. You might even come up with one for your eyes only, then one that can be used as a tagline of sorts on your site.

One of our clients, The Christian Chronicle, has a good example. Their tagline on their site is “An international news source for members of churches of Christ.” They’ve identified not only what the site is all about, but even the target audience for the site. An internal mission statement for the Chronicle might be “Provide impartial reporting of news relevant to members of the churches of Christ.”

Whatever the case, a website should never be created just to create a website. It should some purpose, whether that purpose is just for fun or to make money. Establish that mission for your site and then work to fulfill it.

Large Companies Bring High Performance Gaming Laptops to Everyone

Wednesday, September 3rd, 2008

In my view gaming laptops have lost their once sustained specialist status. I remember when they were not so widespread. They were pretty much like a small qty manufacturing plant. Didn’t ship in numbers but generated a lot of cash on each laptop. The price was just too high to justify purchasing these types of notebook for potential buyers. I reckon they weren’t the most practical however I still believe they were the best laptop computers. Regardless of whether that was true I reckon the prices were so expensive that we would buy laptop computers that were not as great instead. Sales will improve though now that bigger companies are entering the market.

These notebooks have a certain price bracket and these manufacturers are aware they do not have to be price competitive in this case. This can be one of the few money producing products they have as they make nothing on many others due to the overwhelming competition. Additionally they can use their gigantic marketing spend to induce buyers further into spending their money or bringing out the credit cards to buy laptop computers like these ones. This is a big threat to littler niche retailers. With the capital at their disposal they can effortlessly finish the littler competition. Well known manufacturers can leverage their brand names to easily win purchasers over.

I reckon they surely are making some of the best laptop computers available to purchase. I reckon that littler companies could yet have a chance. From time to time the littler system builders will provide new components quicker and hence supply faster configurations too. I reckon the consumers that buy gaming laptops normally know what they are looking for. when choosing speed and design, these purchasers generally choose the former. From a buyers point of view this is all a positive situation. Eventually premium technology for your investment will be the result of this saturation. Don’t quote me on that though as anything can happen in the laptop computer industry. Different laptop computers are always being introduced and these new systems normally ask for premium prices. The larger companies have already launched their own gaming notebook range, so all we can do now is sit back and watch.
