Liverpool High Rise Withstanding The Financial Storm

Although the new high-rise 20 Chapel Street finished in 2006 had a very slow start, the £60 million Liverpool project is starting to see its lettings increase with further projections looking positive as well.

The structure, which was completed by Rumford Investments, has a tower for commercial lettings and one for residential lettings.

Part of the reason for the slow incline in lettings may be due to the fact that despite its many architectural awards, the angular design is not complementary to everyone’s tastes.

However, the 150,000 square foot of office space has recently attracted quite a bit of attention from professional firms and financial services looking for a modern office design space such as Barclay’s Wealth, Barclay’s Bank, Ernst & Young, Bank of Ireland, and many more.

The Chapel Street high rise has recently acquired new tenant Jackson LLP who let 3,165 square feet of office space on the second floor of the building with more lettings in the contractual stages according to the commercial marketing consultant of the development Alastair Newman.

Newman states recently that the investment group has possible contract negotiations in process for a little over 25,000 sq ft and that the company is not worried about the unspoken for 85,600 square feet of office space as they have received a strong amount of interest in the area.
