Guiding a Woman's Quest for The Feminine Mystique
I never thought the indestructible Amelia Sinclair, my high school BFF, would own and wear wigs. Her extravagant hair added so much to her indomitable look. Guess what? Miss Prim n’ Proper will be eternally celebrated for her trademark toss ‘n turn. Very few realize she confidently masks her medical hair loss under wigs. You’d be surprised!
When we were mere children in high school, we always knocked ‘em dead. In our twenties her women’s hair loss kicked in and her hair thinned spottily. I hinted about some human hair wigs. Oh well, she just shaved her head. She somewhat obnoxiously unveiled her shaved head.
Attending the school’s roller hockey tournament, we flirted with the crowd till some kluts clumsily slapped the puck (or that thing they use) towards the fans. My bff went to grab it and her cute little hat landed in a beer, uncovering her thinning hair. Like nothing happened, she hurled the thing with a tremendous heave to her man. She’s that kind of girl.
However, everyone has insecurities. The same summer at our semi-monhtly game of bridge, where she grabbed my arm and confided that she would rather do without hair out of anger. She loved her old hair so much she can’t even look at women’s medical wigs, even if she would wear them. Suddenly she our fearless protagonist became beet pink in the face and asked that I dismiss the notion. I didn’t know what to say.
I couldn’t drop it. Later on, I talked about taking care of this wig problem. After a long deliberation the two of us arrived at the only logical action: lace front wigs for all! We have a knack for making online wig shopping fun.
We had a great time, amazed by the options. She couldn’t believe that lace front wigs could be so confidence inspiring for beautiful people and famous actors. These lace front wigs were marvelous. Personally, I built an entirely fresh wardrobe to match my wig. Out of solidarity, but you knew that already. The other day she sent me her thanks for her dignified synthetic wig, and disclosed that it brought about a new attitude for many occasions. It’s encouraging to watch my best friend rediscover the sassy, feminine girl I remember. I’m right there with her.
